WARDROBE GUIDE
Styling can make or break how your photos turn out.
Think about these things when selecting your outfits;
You should always feel like yourself, when you are at your session or looking back on your images. Don't try to be someone you are not! They are your family photos and should look like you, just a little fancier.
Stay away from vibrant colours and mixing loud patterns. Especially in an outdoor location as this can look out of place
Please don’t be afraid of colour! Burnt Orange, Blues, even muted Pinks or Purples can look stunning in both indoor and outdoor session.
Avoid clothing with large logos. If you are in a beautiful field with your family and hubby's t-shirt has NIKE across the chest - it will draw attention.
When in doubt - go with neutrals. Light, dark or colours, keep everyone in similar tones and you will get a cohesive look.
Nothing stands out more in photos than a phone or keys in dads pocket, a hair tie around mums wrist or a fitness watch. Please leave these things in your car. (I am happy to keep your car keys with me)
Don’t break the bank with expensive outfits.
Try; Looking through the wardrobe and see what you have. Denim, a collared shirt, plain t-shirts are all staples most people have.
Borrow from friends or family. If it is something you will only wear for the day, don’t spend the money when you don’t have to.
Try Kmart, Best n Less, Target. They have great options that won’t cost a fortune. (If you do buy something for your session, please make sure you will wear it again.)For Newborn sessions, the same rules apply! Neutral, keep patterns simple and have a few options for outfits.
Here is an example of a family session wardrobe with pieces all styled from Target, Best & Less and Kmart:
